Introducing My Research
Have you ever heard of womb transplantation? Until I started researching I didn’t. Womb transplantation is a new scientific discovery that has not yet become popular. I became interested in this topic because I am a nursing student and am very interested in medical breakthroughs. Womb transplanting is still a very controversial topic because it presents many ethical issues.
Most transplants are done to help people survive, but womb transplanting is used to improve the quality of life. Those women who want children but do not have the ability to conceive can adopt or look into surrogate mothers. These methods are alright but do not give the full effect of parenting. This all sounds like a good procedure but the implanted uterus must come from a cadaver, the recipient must take a lot of medicines, and there is the possibility that a partially developed fetus may be aborted due to infection.
I hope that this will all spark an interest for you. I am hoping to help people gain knowledge about this topic and to get people to support the continuing research to improve the lives of families all over the world.
